It’s not that this online dating site doesn’t take its mission (helping Jewish singles meet online) to heart; it’s just that they do allow a sort of light-hearted approach that focuses more on compatibility and friendship without focusing too much on faith issues. It seems to me to be a site where members join because they happen to be Jewish and would like to meet others who are Jewish. A good example is my desire to search for other Jewish singles in New York – there are well over 2,500 members in that area – a safe bet that I can find plenty of people interested in getting to know me. If I want to restrict myself to South Dakota (26 listings), I may want to rethink things a bit. It was also very interesting – it gave me an idea of the cross-section of Jewish singles and how they’re spread out across the country.
