Everyone wants to look their best, but being overdressed is as bad as being underdressed – either way, your date will end up feeling uncomfortable. So here’s a dating tip to keep in mind: Keep yourself reined in before you scare him or her away.

Ask Before Lighting Up

Tips on dating etiquette almost never include this, but I think its essential – ask before lighting up. Even if you’re in a bar where it’s allowed, your date may objections. She may have a sensitivity to smoke; he may simply hate the smell. And if he or she says its fine, thank them. They’ll know you considered their comfort before your pleasure.
